Sited on the former military camp in the southern state of Johor, the Majidee Camp, the proposed hotel is part of a relatively large new township area in Johor Bahru. The Southkey is the latest development area that spans across 330-acres of land in the heart of the city. Dubbed as the urban lifestyle development, Southkey is envisaged to be a modern integrated development with many components to be built in the years to come.

Among others, are the office towers, service apartments and condominiums, hospital, school, shopping mall and hotels. ATSA Architects had proposed a business hotel that will be partly of the Lake Front precinct. The 1.49-acre site is located nearby the newly completed shop office and a future shopping mall and will be fronting a man-made lake that acts as a site reservoir.

The design of the 18 storey hotel building has been fully optimised the skewed site, akin to the half triangle form. Available in the three options of designs, each façade design reflects the modern and contemporary look similar to any high-rise commercial buildings in the surrounding area. One option design will deploy more steel structural element, features a more elegant and sleek presence.

The design proposed the two types of unit rooms, which are the standard and the executive unit rooms. Regarded as a three-star hotel, it will be furnished with many facilities of any standard business hotels. Along with the guest rooms, there are ballroom hall, function rooms, cafeteria, lounge bar, dining terrace, reception counter, front office, surau, marketing office, toilets, swimming pool, gymnasium, garden terrace and plenty of car parks.
