The winning competition entry for the new Sime Darby World Headquarters is to be located in Kiara Hills at the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur. The site measuring approximately 4.5 acres which gradually slopes from entrance road to the forest of Kiara Hills. It has great views from the front overlooking the golf course and from the back to the hills.

This 19 storey building was the initial wining design for the new corporate headquarters of Sime Darby, the largest of Malaysia’s Multi National Corporate Company. Sime Darby, a diversified company involved in various industries from plantation, property, heavy equipment energy to motor vehicles. Since its establishment in 1910, Sime Darby has built a reputation for competence and professionalism. Its name, projects a strong and bold corporate identity that is easily recognizable and highly respected in Malaysia and the Asia Pacific Region. Sime Darby’s identity is towards its commitment to quality, service and attention to detail in all aspects.

It is imperative that this new proposed World Headquarters for Sime Darby reflects its corporate identity and core values. It has also to project an image of being modern, dynamic, current, responsible, friendly, caring, transparent, efficient and most importantly “Green”.

Our design concept is based on a U shape plan centered with a covered garden atrium space. This building will have a center courtyard which is designed as a center piece, as well as the main access to the various floors. The courtyard shall reduce the need of elevators (lift) in this building while making it pleasant to use the stairs to the various floors. The glass atrium is protected by sun shading louvers against direct sun light which will help to reduce heat gain to the internal courtyard space below.

At various floors, we have introduced various roof gardens, to bring nature and greenery into the building. This building is designed to exist with nature by introducing trees on to the various roof top spaces. The roof top spaces can also be used for outdoor events and entertainment.
