A design proposal for a new Computer Science and Information Technology Building for University Putra Malaysia that will provide for modern teaching facilities. The objective is to elevate UPM to be one of the most advanced universities in Computer and Information Science.
This new facility is located on top of a hillock overlooking the main campus. The site is only slightly cut to make way for the structure, with the approach road carefully designed to meander around the hill all the way to the top.
The design concept is based on two identical wings “rotating” around a central core. These 3½ levels wings will accommodate the various teaching facilities including Labs, Classrooms, Auditorium, Offices and many more. A Courtyard (one on each wing) is placed at the center of each wing to allow for a landscaped Garden, and also provides natural cross-ventilation into the building.
